I started photographing my own city slowly a year ago because I was tired of work that felt like collecting locations and curious whether photographing differently would actually deliver the things photography teaching promised. I committed to a year. I tracked what I shot, what I kept, what changed in how I saw and what I noticed.

This site is the field notes from that year. The places I now know visually. The specific corners, hours, and conditions that have changed how I think about photography.
