Had a little extra time on my hands this morning. #1240382Jeff E Jensen February 18, 2010
Tony - You need to find a little extra time more often. This is a fantastic series. I'm having a hard time deciding on a favorite. I'm leaning towards "Beauty. . ." Well done. #8393198Dale Hardin February 19, 2010
Super job Tony. My favs are "beauty" and the "flapjacks"I envy you all with your creativity on projects like this. Have never been able to get enthusiastic about creating this type of photography. Have no idea why. Weird huh? I did it once using pencils but found it tedious for me so never tried again. Just lazy I guess. #8393331

Tony, I really like the series. My favorites are Forks by Design (1) and Macrofork.Anthony L. Mancuso February 19, 2010
Thanks Jeff, Dale and Kathe.I hear what your saying Dale. I don't think I've done the phellos monthly theme yet, but business has been slow and havent done anything to interesting lately so I was looking for something to shoot.
Thanks for commenting on each photo Kathe...the Warhol thing probably is a bit overdone, but I still think its pretty cool. I agree with your coments about "Beauty", but my Beauty was a less than willing and fidgety 6 year old and it was beginning to become an exercise in frustration so I took what I could get!
I probably could've used a less DOF in flapjacks, but I don't find the bg all that distracting. I do agree the green plate doesn't go well with the food.
I actually like the shadows in Design 2, I don't find them to be overlly harsh..the sun was partially to fully obstructed by clouds.
Thanks for the compliment on the macro one!
I thought of this idea for the new post last night while I was uploading the other ones, couldn't believe I didn't think of it while I was brainstorming in the first place so I had to try it today.... #8394640

Just had another thought about the latest post...is it better with or without the lens flare? #8394726Anthony L. Mancuso February 19, 2010
Hmmm, weird. It said the upload was successful but there is nothing there, try one more time.. #8394768Jeff E Jensen February 19, 2010
I love the fork in the road.I would suggest toning down the the last one, it seems WAY blown out perhaps open it in the raw editor and apply the recover slider. . . .
(Dale accused me of turning into him the other day, so I couldn't resist) #8394818

LOL I can't believe you missed the fork in the road the first time Tony. Classic!!!By the way, just wanted to say that I find Kathe's critiques very well thought out and informative. I very much enjoy her input and expertise. #8394824

Those last two should be titled "Fork in a Snowstorm" I guess! Not sure why that was happening, this is the last attempt for today...Jeff I was actually going to try to "move the black slider toward the main body of data" to see if that helped at all.. #8395045Anthony L. Mancuso February 19, 2010
Trying a different image to see what happens.. #8395059Anthony L. Mancuso February 19, 2010
Seems like it is a BP issue, I saw a tulip in a snowstorm one like mine on the contest entry page.. #8395090Teresa H. Hunt February 19, 2010
Tony these are great. Your first image makes me hungry. I haven't had blueberry pancakes in a long time. I really like your Forks by Design . . . better than the second one.Your Fork in the Road made me laugh. Though it is a great shot.
And I like your snowstorm shots, but I think you could bring out a bit more detail in the highlights. LOL!
Great series Tony! #8395351

You could also duplicate the image and apply a high pass filter and then open up the shadows a bit. #8397016Peter W. Marks February 19, 2010
So I'm not going to repeat what everyone else has said but in truth the only really good fork is one with a nice chunk of rare rib-eye steak on it!Debbie E. Payne February 20, 2010
love them all. Mostly glad you found time to be able to do some 'forking'. Because we lived in rural northern CA for a while, "forking" to me conjures up teenagers steathily placing plastic forks in a cow pasture or for less ingenious kids - front yards. Akin to toilet papering, you know #8401452Anthony L. Mancuso February 20, 2010
Thanks Deb...I saw a story about forking on MTV once, a bunch of high school kids did it as a prank on their school campus..planted thousands of them in the ground. Funny stuff..wouldve made a great photo op! #8401500Dale Hardin February 20, 2010
Congrats on your #2 image EP Tony. #8401730Anthony L. Mancuso February 20, 2010
Thanks Dale....thanks Pete, these were extras that I throw in the freezer for quick breakfast...next time I will get some with some vermont goodness on them... #8401934Joan E. Hoffman February 20, 2010
The pancakes look DELICIOUS Tony! Love your series! Great job of the monthly theme! My mom made wonderful pancakes. We generally had them for lunch on Friday, if any were left over, she would let them cool on the counter...cold pancakes with butter were my favourite after-school snack! #8401971Susan M. Reynolds February 20, 2010
So much has been said and I think everything's been covered...Rita K. Connell February 21, 2010
awesome series Tony congrats on your EP but did you have to advertise for China...LOL I love the Beauty one. I know exactly why she has the fork in the postion she does. Look you will see her pupil right between so she could see you. pressing in her forehead is exactly what a 6 year old would do. great picture. Fork in the road is great also. Pete and I had problem with picture uploading in the EP section also. very nicely done Tony #8403587Anthony L. Mancuso February 21, 2010
Thanks Rita and Susan, I had a lot of fun shooting these images, especially the fork in the road! #8403664Ellen H. Robertson February 21, 2010
