Several Things Separately To Play With The Colors.
His Face and hands, His Hair, His Jacket, The Rocks & The Logs.

I also used the liquefy tool to thin his face and better define his neck.

Hi everyone!

Yes, there -IS- a face on the mountain, Usman! Did you all see it? Like a giant ghost face made of snow! OooOOOOOooooo! :D

I loved this comp, Michelle, and am glad you guys seemed to as well! Composition is really fun for me.

As far as the special effects here, they are all new to me except the frac filter. Lasso is a WONDERFUL, tool. Using it for selective coloring is an AMAZING capability to have and I am sure this lasso thing can do even more things that I don't know about yet.

Monnie this stuff seems intimidating and difficult at first but when you realize you can have way more control over the outcome, it's so great to understand the capabilities and possibilities. PS can make an average image into a great one if we understand the TOOLS in our TOOLBOX!!!

Many images just need a little wrenching! HA!

Even the curves program will brighten and enrich a photo that is otherwise just average. It doesn't have to be used to alter it much. Just enhance! Make it shine or pop! The UNSHARPEN TOOL is amazing this way as well!

Mr. Tree...I am a good little sister. I always do my best to cover my brothers back. He is a handsome man and there is just no need to allow him to go without a MAKE OVER if I can help it! HA!

Ron-If you read that carefully you will know now if he is older or younger than I am. :D

I'm glad you all enjoyed the colors and work done here. It was a lesson for me in PS that I hope turned out eye pleasing! :) I like the semi cartoon look here.

Thanks so much, each of you, for the visit!

Pretty cool perspective and creative work. I've got some shots of this area too but they're in transparencies, LOL! It took a while for me to convert to digital. I see you're having so much fun with your art. WTG! #8367588

Brett Dolsen February 09, 2010

You have certainly developed a great method of effects and colour enhancements Laura!!Great composition too!! #8367666

Graham Robards February 09, 2010

LOL look at the colour of his face! Have you got "inverse" on your program?

If so after making your selection with the tool, go up to Select, then down to Inverse.

Then the saturation change will only effect what is inside of the selection, not the man's
face hee hee.

Gee great job little sister! It is fun isn't it playing around. I loved the steps too! Thanks for sharing. ~Pat #8367857

Thank you all so very much! I'm having a blast using this frac filter.

It's funny, too, because I do several adjustments and effects with it and I always come back to this same general look for these images of the lake. It just feels right to me to attain this particular look. :)

Pat, I will check. Thanks! I lassoed his face and hands and was able to go to color adjustments for HUE (PSE7) and took the orange skin and desaturated it. It seemed to work like a charm. It as a really neat tool to discover!!

I enjoyed all of your comments very much! Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate it more than you know!
