YUMMY! BRAINS AND MAGGOTS FOR SUPPER!So funny!
* * *
Thank you Monnie, Michelle and Rony!
Still giggling here. Oh, dear!
Truth be known, these remind me of chest X-rays! I will say no more but am very glad I quit smoking at age 24!!!
BUT ALAS - BECAUSE WE KNOW that this is a pomegranate, we have to think good thoughts. Of the taste and the fun of eating one, right?
RIGHT!
They are amazing for our health too! They have a 5 thousand year old history to them as a curing fruit!!! The FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH of fruits for KINGS and QUEENS!
They fight cancer, Alzheimers, night sweats. They are high in Vit C & D and Potassium...GREAT for the skin...
There now. Is the thoughts of Maggots and brains gone from you minds yet?
Thanks all!

Gees Mechelle, it is getting to close to dinner time. I took a photo of the bloom this last spring, never have seen the fruit. I am told they are very healthy to eat. Have to try one some day. #8235817Patrick Rouzes December 20, 2009

Brother Rolan! You won't believe what I have been sitting here eating!!! The second half! Cold from the fridge and so juicy! We don't get them often in Canada so it was a complete treat for me this week! :D How fun that you love them, too! It must run in the family!

Arlene...I should have been here to dare you! Your brain is alive with wonderful descriptive thoughts! HA! So fun that you dropped by!!! :D

Hi Ron! I know, I know...That Michelle! HA! I love her off the cuff remarks. I find them terribly refreshing! Honesty is her best policy! :D
I'd love to see that bloom you shot a pic of last spring! Pomegranates are a very odd fruit. They are mainly layers and layers of ~sweetish~ seeds divided by cream colored sheets of blanketing that they grow between.
Hard to explain but really a very strange sort of treat of the gods.

Thank you all for your kind and fun remarks and for the visit!

Wow, Pom, this lovely (really, it IS lovely)image brought out a lot of interesting comments, didn't it? You'll never be able to look a pomegranate in the "face" again without calling up all these semi-sweet memories (and reactions...brains and maggots?... hmmm... ;-D )Laura E. Swan December 25, 2009
Mmmmmm! Eggnog and Pomegranates!Lets celebrate!
Thanks John and Mary!
I too, have fond memories of this special fruit. When I was a young girl in California we didn't get to eat them very often but they were always a big treat!
And ask ANY maggot what it likes to eat most, too. BRAINS! HA!
See? Everyone wins!
This was a fun thread. Thanks everyone.
