An Ocean's Fury
Uploaded: June 15, 2003
On this day, a tropical storm produced gigantic waves of 30 to 45 feet on the outside and these 20 foot shorebreak monsters.

Cathy, being out in the water to capture this image would have been my last photo taken....I was "safely" situated at least 100 yards away (used a 400mm telephoto lens.) I hope this answers your inquiry. #118690Roberta Davis May 26, 2019

Congratulations on your win Warren! Always pleasure to see your great captures of waves. #145540Murtaza H. Saeed July 20, 2003
This looks like a chinese painting. One of the paintings that capture so much of the oceans movements, done in black and white, where you feel the water is dancing. You've done all that and more in this lovely colorful photo. The actual deep natural colour of water, the turbulance between the sea and land created by the storm, rocks, spray, the white caps of the waves...
that is powerful.
Glad to read that you considered your personal safety in staying back to photograph this real natural force of nature.
