DC Abstract

Uploaded: September 17, 2011

Description

I was going for a comp of the Washington Monument with the dome of the US Capitol in the distance. But I wasn't happy with the clarity
on the dome, in any of my shots (my zoom is ultra finicky, even on a tripod w/ mirror lock-up, and jiggles at the slightest breeze.) So I started
editing, ultimately removing the dome entirely, along with all the other flagpoles that encircle the Monument. What was left really appealed
to me as a geometric composition; the big blocks of sky, masonry, and a strip of grass. I chose Digital Darkroom due to the edits/removals.

Exif: F Number: 11, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/200 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 200, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 300.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 7D
