First Baptist of Philly
Uploaded: June 28, 2010
---
At South 17th Street between Sansom and Moravian. The First Baptist Church of Philadelphia was founded in 1698, just a few years after William Penn founded the city. The church is an adaptation of Byzantine and Romanesque architectural styles. The exterior was made with Holmesburg granite, and the trimmings with Worcester stone.
---------
The cyclist dismounted and walked his bicycle past the church! He was so color coordinated with the magnificent red doors!
-----------
The building needed straightening in this shot, and I used, primarily, the "transform perspective" tool in Photoshop CS4. Because that took away a piece of the lower left corner, the Vanishing Point filter was used to fill in the "blank" part. The original will be available in the discussion area.
