DRAKE over BROAD

Uploaded: June 14, 2010

Description

From 1512 Spruce Street, The Drake "Hotel" overlooks the dome of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of Broad Street in Philadelphia.
---------
Constructed in 1929 as a luxury hotel, The Drake was once the tallest building in Philadelphia. Today, this elegant 32-story beauty has been restored to its original splendor and is home to stylish apartments and the most spectacular penthouses in the city.
-------------
With a Sigma ultra-wide 10-20mm lens mounted on my Canon 7D, this was shot from the opposite side of Broad Street at about 30mm equivalent. Lots of converging verticals, once remedied, caused the Drake to be dwarfed; so I streteched it using Edit-Transform-Scale in PS CS4. Original is shown in the discussion.

Wonderful Shot Never would have guessed at the adjustment. The B&W gives it a great period shot look.
I like the unaltered shot more however.
In either case they are beauties
Thanks A LOT for the Thoughts yesterday
