Susan, I like the variations and think you've chosen the best of the lot. Although it's pretty tight with the sepia version.

Have another option for you to try based on the posted image. First apply an 8x10 horizontal format crop starting in the upper left corner. Then apply the high pass filter with a hard light blend, and finally, flip it. #8532535

I agree with Dale on the B&W version, but disagree with the flip... (well at least until I actually see it). Beautiful shot Susan! I have not yet pursued this months theme... #8533065

Beautiful series Susan. I like the sinuous lines of the blossoms and the effects look good. #8533303

This is a really nice series Susan. I like the first the best out of the lot, though they are all good.

I like it as presented, but wouldn't mind seeing Dale's suggestions. #8534235

I too like the first one best and agree all of them are very good. I do like the flow. Well done! #8535172

WOW susana theses are great. beautiful image I love the title and the trail it makes. as for my favorite I am like Laurence perfer color 3 and I like the 2nd post because it is a little warmer so must be more sepia tone that I like. Nice job very nicely done. #8537729

Susan - My vote is also for #1! And your title is superb.I was given one of these flowers during my "stint" at home and couldnt' photograph it when it was at it's peak. Very nicely done. #8539876

Here is Dale's suggetstions with the 8x10 crop, high pass filter with hard blend light at 60% and finally flipped.
I don't care much for the crop because to me it seems to lose the trail of flowers look. I also don't care much for the flip. So I'm adding the same black and white and sepia versions with just the high pass fliter and overlay blend at 60%. Is this any better? (I'm still learning how to do this - I added it on the first version but used an overlay on the blending. How do you know what radius to chose for the pixles on the HP filter and then which lighting blend to apply?) I entered #3 as it is and it won an EP. But I also tried it with the High Pass Filter and removed that back blurry petal on the right side. Does this look better without that back petal and the HP filter @5.5 radius and 70% hardlight overlay blend? #8541517

Susan M. Reynolds level-addict April 17, 2010

It would help to add the three photos I guess :) #8541519

Here is #3 with the HP filter at 5.5 radius and 70% hardlight overlay blend.
Is it better than the orignal #3 without the blurry petal in the back? #8541530

Susan M. Reynolds level-addict April 17, 2010

I meant just a 70% Harldlight blend on the High Pass filter for this version above. The first one of #3 I used an overlay blend on the HP filter. But I'm curious to find out if anyone likes it better with the back petal removed.
Thanks for your help with the HP filter, Dale :) #8541534

Susan, in spite of my suggestions for a crop and flip, I like your last post the best. Thanks for going to all the work to show us the variations. #8541555

I don't have strong feelings about color, BW or sepia but am not keen on the flipped version.
A very nice series Susan. #8542061
