This Juvenile Stanley Crane is the same one as in our picture Feeding Lesson 101 and Just the Two of Us. It is unbelievable the way those little downy creatures could grow up into these beautiful feathery cranes! Canon 300 w 1.4XT, fill flash with better beamer at -1.00 compensation, semi cloudy day. ISO 200, F8 at 1/320.

Linda, Brinn, Dan, Janine, Kara -Thank you so much for your warm praise and for taking the time in all of our busy schedules to view and respond to our pictures!!! This picture holds a special place in our hearts since we watched these little "guys/gals" from birth to now, their juvenile stage. We captured these youn Stanley's at three weeks old on our website titled Feeding Lesson 101 and Just the Two of Us. My, how they grow, just like grandchildren, and we should know we have four. They are getting ready to ship them off to other zoos that have requested them and we will surely miss them... Thank you again!!! Dick & SaraJanine Russell November 22, 2005
Dick and Sara, no room in the garage, but I do have a few guest rooms...Thanks so much for your words of encouragement regarding my photos. #2109073Christian P. Nicolas November 23, 2005
TTL I definitely envy you. What a shot! This gallery of yours is awesome. Thanks for the visit. I took a trip to Loxahatchee after Wilma, it was so sad to see this entire habitat in such bad shape.

Christian, thank you so much for your praise... We have been hesitant to head that way for fear that we would find exactly what you experienced! I don't know if this year will be a good bird year here in South Florida - no place for them to hide or nest in....Thank you so much again for your generous praise! The Everglades should start dropping its water table early next month which normally brings the alligators and the wading birds to Shark Valley. Last year it was an awesome sight! If they do come down again this year and you are interested in joining us, send us an e-mai with contact information and we will be happy to join you there for a day of shooting and show you some of our hot spots... Nicole, Jack, Cindy, Cathy and Deborah - Thank you for your comments! They are very appreciated! By the way Cathy and Deborah, we were at the west coast this past weekend and visited Venice Rookery at sunrise for the Blue Heron's courtships (but the sun never rose, it was raining and cold), and Ding Darling for the Roseatte Spoonbills and Woodstorks, and will be posting some of those pictures soon. So glad to see that the birds are finally coming back..... #2206258Cindy Cone December 21, 2005
Congrats on this beauty, Dick and Sara! Let me know when you're heading to this coast again, the rookery, etc. Looking forward to your new photos! #2211113Cheryl E. Molennor April 16, 2006
