~DON"T FENCE ME IN!~
Uploaded: September 10, 2009 19:26:39
It's pretty tight quarters on the ground when the balloons are inflating. They can even bump into each other before they are totally up in the air and ready to ascend. This was taken at the Colorado Classic Balloon Fest in Colorado Springs, CO on Labor Day weekend.

It's always a treat seeing your ballon images....you have a gift capturing them in just the right way. Such beautiful colors! Congrats on your EP! :~) #1184020Debbie E. Payne September 23, 2009
Thank you so much, Aimee! I have missed your comments, not only on my images but on everyone else's as well. Balloons are my favorite thing to photograph, I think. Do you see my error in this image? There isn't any way I can exchange this one for one slightly cropped is there? I know it'll never make a Finalist unless I tweak it ever so slightly. I'm curious if you've noticed what it is that is bothering me so much... #7977293Aimee C. Eisaman September 23, 2009
Awww thanks Debbie...I'm sure not everyone feels the same way about my commentary! LOL! And yes I see the little read helmet head on the bottom. I wonder if you would lose too much if you took off some on the right side and the bottom. I'd say clone it, but that's a really bad spot with the white line and all those wrinkles. Maybe crop as much as you can then clone the rest. It's worth a try if you want to resub later. :~) #7977547Debbie E. Payne September 23, 2009
What that is is a little normal balloon that someone was holding from the ground. I could kick myself for not spotting it when I was working on it because I was aware of it in a few of the others. Oh well, next time. I definitely think this would work by cropping out. I agree that it would be difficult to clone. #7977690Jodi M. Walsh October 22, 2009

Thank you all - I would have to say that balloons are my favorite thing to shoot. So far I've only been to the Colorado Classic Balloon Festival here in town (Colorado Springs, CO). Would love to get to New Mexico next. #8065528M.Christine Duncan October 23, 2009

I seem to have missed this great finalist! Congrats! #8152794Debbie E. Payne November 22, 2009
Thank you, ladies. Christine, I am tickled that you saw a balloon picture and automatically think of me! Funny how that works. When I see great architectural shots I think of you and Marisol! And Karol, with you I think of animal portraits. I STILL haven't figured out Painter but I am "baby-sitting" an adopted cat for when my daughter comes home for Christmas. He is adorable but he is afraid of Sampson. Wouldn't you be afraid of a bouncy red furry thing 8X your size. He'd be a good subject for the painterly look too! #8153471Karol Grace November 22, 2009
