Starvation Creek Falls
Uploaded: July 07, 2008 19:05:43
One of the many waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. Named for an incident in December 1884. A train traveling from The Dalles to Portland carrying 148 passengers and crew was stranded by avalanches ahead of and behind the train. After a week, on Christmas day, a relief party arrived on foot. No one actually died. This is now a state park just off I84 with several gorgeous waterfalls.
