Practice session with my new studio lights! f5.6, ISO 100. This is Alli and she's almost 8 months old. I'm in the experimental phase at this point!

Very cute shot, for a Pout!!! I think some of the unposed shots of a child are the best.Good job! #57536Gina Harmeyer September 07, 2003
Thanks Joyce, I just let her do her thing, and being 8 months old, you never know what she might do! I consider them semi-candid! #190127Charlene Bayerle September 07, 2003
Too cute!!!! Great capture of Alli, Gina!!! #190144Shirley L. Carpenter September 07, 2003
Great portrait shot!!!!Very Cute!!!!!!!! #190146Gina Harmeyer September 07, 2003
Thank you Charlene adn Shirley! We definitely had fun and it gave me a taste of what to expect with other people (trying to keep track of all 3 of my own kids!) :-) #190185Judith G. Secco September 07, 2003
Another beautiful shot, Gina. Nice job with the lights.Gina Harmeyer September 07, 2003
Thank you Judy! I can't wait to learn more and experiment to see what I can come up with, I need to start borrowing other kids to gain more experience! LOL #190238Susan T. Evans September 07, 2003
Gina, it is a great first attempt, her pout is adorable, she is a little too dark on the right side of her face. I think this is a fantastic first attempt, I am impressed! #190278Gina Harmeyer September 07, 2003
Thanks Susan! I was experimenting with just one light on this one, I had turned off the light on the right. She was probably just angled a bit too much to the right. I took about 130 photos of all 3 kids yesterday, but this expression was one of my favorites :-) #190287Susan T. Evans September 07, 2003
Gina, I absolutely love this expression, and for your first attempt, I am very impressed, I think you did really really good!!! #190327Susan T. Evans September 07, 2003
Her face is awesome Gina! I just had to go back and look again!!! She is just a stunning baby!!! #190329Gina Harmeyer September 07, 2003
LOL Susan! Thanks so much for your comments! She definitely gets noticed when I take her out in public, I think it's her eyes, they are so exaggerated and they are a stunning color. I have never seen eyelashes quite like hers on a baby either. Her eyes have always looked so mature for her age, not very infant-like #190340Kathleen Clemons September 07, 2003
A wonderful portrait of a beautiful baby, Gina! What are you using for lights? #190386Gina Harmeyer September 07, 2003
Thanks so much Kathleen! I just purchased a new starter studio light kit. It's a JTL Versalight 200 Kit, it came with 2 lights, 2 stands, 2 umbrellas (a silver and a white) and carrying cases. I also purchased an additional smaller light for backlighting but I haven't played with that too much yet, when I tried it a couple of times it was too much light so I didn't spend the time to make the necessary adjustments. But thanks again! Hope that info was useful! By the way, I just got them on Wed (9/3) - oh and I decided to attach a photo of my 'setup' - it's temporary until we can finish that area of the basement, but I told my husband that I don't need walls to learn how to use my lights! #190579Kathleen Clemons September 07, 2003
Thanks so much Gina. Looks like you're on your way to a great start! #190627Evy Johansen September 07, 2003

Wonderful! Beautiful! This isn't the little girl that was all in pink in last month's contest, is it? #197262Gina Harmeyer September 12, 2003
Thanks Evy and Amy! I did enter one of her in a pink dress, with a pink floral background... does that sound familiar? Actually, I will post it here to show you. #197298Amy Anderson September 12, 2003
Yep, that's her. What a beauty! #197594Claudia Fernandes October 17, 2003
